Rising R&B star headlines Anderson concert

Anderson is getting a taste of Southern Soul thanks to a new concert featuring rising R&B King George coming to the Anderson Civic Center. The concert will also feature Uncle Daddy and other artists.

Singer-songwriter King George’s mix of jazz, R&B and soul first made a mark on the national blues scene in 2022 when he headlined that year’s Blues Is Alright Tour. That was also the year of his breakout hit single “Keep On Rollin,” which has had tens of millions of streams on Spotify and YouTube combined.

Originally from Hampton, Virginia, King George now resides in Hopkins South Carolina. His 2020 debut track “Leave & Party” preceded several more love songs later that year. Since then, the artist has made a name for himself by infusing the blues genre that originated in the 1920s with modern elements and respect for women in his lyrics while still staying true to the roots of the music.

With tour stops this year that include shows in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi and Georgia, King George is taking his music back to his home state for his next stop.
