The American Board will be hosting a free informational session in Anderson on how to become a certified South Carolina teacher. This event will be open to all interested, and will be held in the Anderson Public Library.
This seminar is going to be geared towards prospective teachers, especially those who are already part-time teachers, substitutes, or working on emergency credentials. This session will be specific to South Carolina, and will cover the topics American Board certifies in the state.
American Board offers an online certification program for those that already have a bachelor’s degree, and there is also an option for those currently working in the teaching profession who do not wish to return to school. It certifies only in certain subjects and grade levels, primarily in 9-12. There is no certification offered by American Board for K-12 teachers.
American Board will be giving the presentation in the Anderson Public Library in Room 3. There is plenty of public parking available at the library, which is located off of McDuffie Street. This kind of event often uses printing services in order to have printed Flyers, informational sheets, Business Cards, or others. The representative running the session will also be able to answer questions.
The seminar will take about an hour, starting at 7:00 pm this Thursday, July 25.
