What's Happening in Anderson, SC…

On Thursday, February 7, the annual luncheon of Julie Valentine Center was held, during which the Center raised more than $100,000.

This money will go towards the efforts the Center is undertaking to end child abuse and provide support to those who are victims of such crimes. The annual luncheon was held in Greenville, South Carolina, just outside of Anderson. Flyer printing and poster printing were no doubt used by the organization to inform the local community of its efforts and the amount of money it raised.

The Executive Director of the Center, Shauna Galloway Williams, expressed her gratitude to the generosity of the members of the local community. In addition to providing funds that make the work of the Center possible, the luncheon helps to raise awareness of what the Center does. Those who need help are more likely to seek it if they know they can find it at the Center, and the goal is to let people know that the Center exists.

The luncheon was attended by close to 800 people, including the survivor of child abuse and New York Times best-selling author Dave Pelzer.

As a non-profit organization, the Julie Valentine Center provides treatment and support in recovering for those who have been survivors of sexual assault and child abuse. According to Pelzer, it provides a focal point for hope and humanity and every effort made by the Center focuses on the security and safety of its clientele.
