The South Carolina Chili Cook-off Championships will be held in nearby Belton next month for three days. It is presented by the International Chili Society and proceeds will be donated to several local charities.
The first event taking place will be the Wing Ding, block party and SC State Chili Cookoff. Guests will not have the opportunity to taste the chili but will enjoy drinks and other foods. Music will be provided by the Combo Kings and Get Up and Dance. The price of tickets is yet to be announced.
The next day is the Palmetto State Chili Cook-off; this allows for public tastings. Tickets are $5 for eight or $15 for unlimited tastings. Other events happening this day include a 5K run, the Little Miss and Miss Chili Pepper Pageant, arts and crafts vendors and a hot chili eating contest. There will also be musical entertainment from groups such as Radio Rebellion.
The event finishes with the Kegs and Eggs Chili Cookoff which is a private gathering for chefs only. It will also include the awards presentations, and winners have the opportunity to compete in the ICS World Finals.
Chili fans from all over the state, including from nearby Anderson, will not doubt find out about this from Flyers that will be distributed in the community.
