Anderson’s Palmetto Distillery will host a comedy show by the former Disney star Shaun Weiss, of The Mighty Ducks fame, this summer.
Weiss was a favorite of family-friendly comedies from the 1990s, including for his role as Goldberg the goalie in all three Mighty Ducks films and as Josh in 1995’s Heavyweights. He has also appeared in a number of popular TV shows, including Boy Meets World, Sabrina the Teenage Witch, and Freaks and Geeks.
Turning to the world of stand up, Weiss is now on a limited-run comedy tour. His material addresses his journey through recovery and facing other personal battles, all through the lens of comedy.
Hosting the show are Ryan Rubin and Brad Deaton. Local comedian Jas Gill will also be part of the show.
In a recent interview, Weiss explained he hit a rough patch after leaving the limelight as he struggled with homelessness and addiction, but recent years have seen him make a recovery. In 2023, he starred in the film Jesus Revolution, representing his first acting role in over a decade.
