Clemson University, just a short distance from Anderson, has recently begun construction on a major project that will house 1,600 students and many other amenities for on-campus living.
According to the master planner for Clemson, Gerald Vander Mey, the project is to be known as Douthit Hills and will create a comfortable environment for students so they can work, study, and enjoy themselves. Local printing companies may be asked by Clemson to supply Brochures about Douthit Hills which will promote how living on campus can be more inviting and attractive.
The project is the largest one that Clemson has undertaken, spanning 80 acres with 650,000 square feet of buildings. This is equivalent to the square footage of three Super Walmarts, and at a cost of $212.7m, comes in at about the same price.
The enrollment at Clemson has increased by more than 5,000 over the past 10 years and the university has seen a reduction in the number of housing units on campus.
In between the two residential sections at either end, one with a mix of studio and two-bedroom and four-bedroom apartments and the other with dorms for students in the Bridge to Clemson program, there will be a new Student Center, which will include a campus bookstore, dining facility, a fitness center, restaurants, and retail shops.Get a Free Quote for Brochures
