The annual event trail racing event, Cross Your Heart 5K and 10K, will return to Anderson for its eighth year. The two races are part of the 2019 Black Bag Race Series.
This exciting event serves as both friendly competition and a refreshing time outdoors on the scenic Glen Raven-Anderson trail. The racing route travels through a pine forest alongside barns, fields, and past Hurricane Creek.
The 5K run will be completed with one round of the course, and the 10K run will take place along the same route twice around.
The Cross Your Heart 5K and 10K race will begin at 8:30 am and conclude by 10:30 am. Refreshing beverages and food will be available to the participants at the end of the event.
Six types of awards will be given to the winners including male and female grandmasters, masters, and overall, as well as three different categories for varying male and female age groups.
The event will take place on Saturday, December 14. Last-minute registration and the handing out of shirts and supplies to the participants will begin at 7:00 am in the Glen Raven parking lot. Flyer printing is often used to provide event details for those interested in participating.
Entry fees are $30 per person. All proceedings from the race will go to the American Heart Association.
