The 13th annual Girlfriend’s Tea is taking place next month. It is a fundraising event for the Cancer Association of Anderson.
The event features a catered lunch, a guest speaker, entertainment, and silent and live auctions. One person hosts a table and decorates it based on a theme of their choosing; they then invite seven of their friends, family or co-workers to attend. Each table costs $200 until January 31 and $250 after.
This is a popular fundraiser and in past years it has raised over $25,000 for the Association.
The Cancer Association of Anderson provides programs for those either suffering from or recovering from cancer. This includes a breast cancer support group, a lymphedema group, and an eight-week rehabilitation program run by oncology nurses that teaches them how to fight fatigue, engage in healthy eating, or meet other important goals.
The hostesses of each table may contact a favorite Anderson printing company to order items such as colorful Banners, Posters, and Signs to help decorate in their theme.
The Girlfriend’s Tea will be held at the Civic Center of Anderson on February 18 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Tickets are $25 until January 20, after which the price will go up. To find out more about this event, or to become a hostess, contact Carrie R. Binnicker at 864-222-3500.
