Anderson, South Carolina, has already started to enjoy its season of summer block parties, but the fun is far from over.
The 2018 season marks more than a decade of such block parties in Anderson, and the festivities will continue through the end of August, with different bands performing each week. The block parties showcase downtown; the live performances gather plenty of people, while local businesses have a chance to thrive.
Upcoming performances include such groups as City Street Band, Radio Rebellion, Nathan Angelo Band, and Josh Brannon band. The music is in different styles, from pop, to rock, to jazz, but all of it is family friendly and promises to be lively. There will be food and drinks available at the park, while local businesses in the area will be open during the events. The goal of these block parties is to get people to come out and have fun. Carey Jones of the Main Street Program (which helps to run and fund the events) said that the series is all about getting people out and about in downtown Anderson.
Due to the expected large turnout, businesses will need to have plenty of Business Cards on hand. The concerts take place every Thursday evening through August. The remaining dates are July 12, 19, and 26, and August 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30.
