Anderson workshop to promote healthy relationships

The Anderson County Library System will give a multi-day seminar in July on healthy relationships for teens.

Healthy Relationships is a program that is part of the Teen Tips Workshop series where those aged 12-18 can learn about creating and maintaining positive bonds with other people. The seminar will teach attendees the skills required for identifying and nurturing good relationships and point out the warning Signs of toxic connections. The presentation will also introduce guests to new hobbies that help recharge their mindsets. Lunch is provided during the workshops.

The organizer of the three-day presentation will be Safe Harbor, a nonprofit organization that offers several services to survivors of domestic violence. The group operates in counties like Anderson, Pickens, and Greenville. The organization helps the community by creating safe emergency shelters, counseling those impacted by domestic abuse, and organizing parenting classes. People can help Safe Harbor by volunteering or fundraising for the non-profit.

The Healthy Relationships workshop series will be held from July 18 to July 20 at the Anderson Main Library. Each session will take place in the Gambrell Teen Room from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. There is no cost to register, and registrants must commit to all three sessions. Libraries that hold educational events for teens may use poster printing to make indoor ads to market their programs to patrons.
