Goats, sheep, and other small ruminants will be the focus of a function that will welcome members of the agricultural sector of Anderson and the surrounding areas.
The Clemson University Cooperative Extension Service provides a range of learning opportunities for farmers, horticulturalists, and home gardeners. One of these has been geared towards those who raise small ruminants, and the registration fee is $35.
After they have arrived and checked in, registrants will be welcomed and encouraged to take their seats. The learning will open with a review of forage and other feeding options, and the topics covered during the day will range from disease management and prevention to hands-on hoof care, dealing with toxic plants in the field, cost sharing programs, and fecal egg counts. Lunch has been scheduled, and while they learn, delegates will be able to meet and connect with others in the sector.
