Anderson residents invited to get to know the states agricultural side

Anderson families have been offered a special opportunity to get to know more about the agricultural heritage of their home area, and it will also let them learn more about where the food on their table comes from.

The Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) Farm Tour, which will include 20 different farming operations, will take place over one weekend. At each stop, there will be an assortment of activities that will give them a greater insight into agricultural life in the state.

Some of the farms will offer guided tours, while others will provide demonstrations of how their plants or animals are cared for. There will also be tastings and a chance to meet livestock, all while viewing the mountain landscapes found in the area. This will be the 10th year for this annual occasion.

Car passes are available for the tour, and these are being sold for $30 ahead of time and $40 on the weekend when the tour will be taking place. Brochure printing companies will be able to supply maps, Brochures, and other items to use during a self-guided event such as this.

The ASAP annual farm tour will be taking place on June 23 and 24. All who are interested in learning more about their local agricultural heritage are invited to visit the organizer’s website for more details and a chance to purchase their car pass for the weekend.
