The Race the Rainbow 5K and 10K is taking place next month in Anderson, presented by the First Flight Alliance.
Proceeds from the race will benefit five different local charities and runners decide which one gets their registration fee. Runners are encouraged to wear the color of the charity they support. These are the Foothills Alliance (teal), the Anderson Care Pregnancy Clinic (hot pink), the Anderson Free Clinic (red), the Humane Society (black), and Operation Active Kids (green).
There will also be a one-mile fun run which is free or $10 with a T-shirt. Fees for the 5K are $25 or $20 for a stroller, and for the 10K they are $30, although fees will go up after March 1. Prizes will be awarded to the top three overall, the top in the stroller division, and the top three male and female in various age categories. Finishers of 5K and 10K will receive race shirts and medals. All of the prizes will be awarded at a ceremony at the Anderson County Courthouse.
To help advertise events such as these, organizers in Anderson often invest in Flyers to be distributed in the community.
The Race the Rainbow 5K and 10K will be held at the Anderson County Courthouse on March 18 from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Call 864-353-5113 for more information.
