The Anderson County Museum will hold an event in January where people can party in a 1920s-themed venue.
The 1920s Party With the Past is a program that invites people to enjoy a themed dance while supporting the Anderson County Museum. The theme is A Night at the Speakeasy and will feature vintage music and prohibition cocktails. Companies can become sponsors for the event for perks such as recognition on the event sponsor board and being featured in the party’s program. Each sponsorship package is named after a notable historical figure, including Al Capone, Meyer Lansky, and Bumpy Johnson.
The Anderson County Museum is an award-winning organization that collects and preserves historical artifacts from South Carolina. There are many permanent exhibits at the museum, such as Andersonians in War, Turbines and Textiles, and the Sally Rose House. People can also visit outdoor exhibits like Miss Frierson’s Schoolhouse and the Robert Anderson Fountain. The executive director of the museum is Beverly Childs, and the organization’s education program coordinator is Jacob Hill.
The 1920s party will take place on Friday, January 31st. Sponsorships for the event will cost between $500 and $5,000. Guests will be allowed to wear costumes to the celebration.
