Anderson gala to help fund charitable group

The African American Leadership Society (AALS) will hold a gala in June to support the United Way of Anderson County.

The 6th Annual AALS Dream Gala is an event where people can celebrate leaders in the community while supporting a charitable organization. The event will give out several awards, including the Ambassador Leadership Award, Dr. Beatrice Thompson Legacy Award, and Emerging Leader Community Award. A portion of the funds from the gala will also help the Westside Community Center purchase a new roof. This year, the event will take place at the Hilton Garden Inn

The United Way is an organization that wishes to build equitable communities where all people can thrive. The group has created several programs, such as the United Way Center to Combat Human Trafficking, MySmartMoney, and MyFreeTaxes. The charitable organization receives help from more than one million volunteers and has partnered with over 40,000 companies. People can assist the group by donating money online, stocks, or bitcoins.

The AALS Dream Gala will be on Friday, June 16 at 6:30 pm. Tickets to the event will cost $65 per person. Companies interested in sponsoring the gala can pay between $600 and $2,500 for benefits such as reserved tables at the venue, logo placement on the event’s advertising materials, and being featured in the gala’s program. Organizations may thank their sponsors by offering them Corporate Gifts.
