Gourmet Parlor recently opened in Anderson off Civic Center Boulevard and is a combination of an ice cream parlor, candy store, and outlet for gourmet popcorn.
Previously, the location was home to a frozen yogurt spot and a stop for ice cream cakes for parties and gatherings. It has been renovated with bright colors that match the candy colors. There is pop music from the speakers and the aroma of gourmet popcorn fills the space. Along the left side of the interior is a counter with dozens of different flavors of Hershey’s ice cream and sorbets.
On the opposite side are many flavors of Jelly Belly jelly bean, which are available in bulk or pre-packaged Bags. There are also assorted gourmet popcorn, brownies, and soft pretzels.
Beverages include Jelly Belly sodas, coffee, vintage sodas, and root beer floats of different flavors, as well shakes and smoothies.
The owners plan to add a deli featuring sandwiches made with meats and cheeses from Boar’s Head and hot soups that will change along with the seasons. The venue is also available for parties and special occasions.
