Anderson brewery to host breadmaking workshop

The Carolina Bauernhaus Brewery & Winery in Anderson will hold a breadmaking course in December.

The Beer Sourdough Workshop is an activity where guests can learn how to make a basic sourdough artisan loaf from an experienced baker. The lesson is taught by Amanda Moon Callahan, a baker with over a decade of experience who sells her loaves at the Clemson Area Food Exchange.

Participants will receive one Bauernhaus brew, a sourdough starter to bring home, and a recipe book. Guests will also be treated to charcuterie snacks. The organizer for the event is Callywood Farms, a farm based in Westminster that is owned by Callahan.

The Carolina Bauernhaus Brewery & Winery is a business with branches in Anderson and Greenville. The brewery offers many drinks on tap, like the Drop Bear Attack, Lemon Radler, and June Princess. The business also hosts several events, such as basket-making workshops, book club meetings, and open mic nights. Many musicians perform at the brewery, including Adam Holmes and David Franklin White III.

The sourdough workshop will be held on Sunday, December 3rd from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Tickets to the demonstration will cost $50 per person, and there is no experience necessary to take part in the breadmaking activity. Breweries that host educational events like this can use poster printing services to promote their community programs.
