A 5K run is set to be hosted in Anderson this summer.
The race will feature two divisions: an untimed, one-mile fun run for casual runners and a timed 5K for Anderson locals who are seeking a challenge. Prizes and certificates will go to the top three winners within each age group. The organizers of racing events often use flyer printing to provide runners with necessary race course dates and information.
Registration for the one-mile fun run is $10 for race shirt or free without. Registration for the 5K costs $25 per person the month before the race and $30 for late registration from July 1 to race day. Finisher medals will be awarded to all pre-registered individuals who complete the races. Comfort tech mesh race shirts will also be guaranteed for participants who register early. All participants will be provided with refreshments after the races.
All event proceeds will help to support the Operation Active Kids Program (OAK).
Packet pickup will occur the day prior to the race at the Carolina Wren Park Pavilion from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The race is scheduled to take place at the Anderson County Courthouse on Saturday, July 4. Last-minute registration will take place between 7:00 am and 8:00 am. The one-mile fun run will begin at 8:00 am and the 5K will start at 8:30 am.
