‘Motown: the Musical’ is coming to Pittsburgh for eight performances this winter.
A smash hit on Broadway, this is the story of Berry Gordy, who started as a boxer but went on to found Motown Records. In doing so he launched the careers of many top musical stars, including Diana Ross, the Jackson Five, Smokey Robinson, and Stevie Wonder.
The show features the performance of more than 40 hits, including ‘My Girl’ (made famous by the Temptations), ‘I Heard it Through the Grapevine’ (Marvin Gaye), and ‘Ain't No Mountain High Enough’ (Diana Ross and the Supremes).
Prior to the first performance, ticket holders can attend a free pre-show talk at the Trust Arts Education Center. This is presented by PNC Broadway Across America and begins at 6:30 pm. There will also be two matinee performances on January 3 and 4.
To advertise events such as this, organizers will often contact Pittsburgh printing companies to be provided with Posters and other advertising materials. These can be displayed in public buildings in the city or in bus shelters.
‘Motown the Musical’ will be playing at the Heinz Hall from December 30 until January 4. Tickets range in price from $30 up to $90 depending on the day and time. To learn more about this, visit the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's website.
