Pittsburgh residents will be flocking to a local venue to be part of an activity that will have everyone enjoying feathery fun.
The team at the National Aviary will be rolling out the pink carpet for Flamingo Fest, which will welcome visitors for two days in mid-winter. It will provide a taste of the tropics and a chance to view these colorful birds, and it is included with general admission.
The attendees will be able to “fla-mingle” in their favorite pink attire while they make a craft inspired by the Aviary’s resident flock of flamingos. They will also be able to sit in on a flock talk by one of the venue's experts, and a visit to its wetlands-inspired habitat is on the agenda as well. A themed selfie station, book nook, scavenger hunt, flamingo feeding, and many other activities are all in the works at this family-friendly occasion.
