Well known for their cute faces and slow but steady lifestyles, sloths will be playing a starring role in a party planned for a Pittsburgh venue.
The National Aviary will be giving its Linnaeus’s Two-toed Sloths time in the sun with its Sloth Birthday Celebration set for mid-August. The celebration is included with general admission tickets, and it will provide a sneak peek into their lives.
The festivities will run for three and half hours, and it will wish many happy returns of the day to both Vivien and Wookie. The public can sign their birthday card, make a themed party favor at the crafting tables that will be set up in the venue’s Garden Room Library. An expert-led talk will be on offer in the Helen M. Schmidt FliteZone Theater, and there will be other activities as well.
