The exhibition ‘Someday is Now: the Art of Corita Kent’ will be go display at the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh as of the end of this month.
This is the first full exhibition devoted to the artist. In addition to being a nun, Kent was also a designer, teacher, and civil rights activist. She was a very successful graphic artist in the 1960s and 70s and still influences the field today. The show is set to feature Posters, murals, photographs, lyrical works, and serigraphs.
The exhibition may interest those in Pittsburgh who make their living working for graphics or printing services companies.
The opening reception is taking place on January 30 beginning at 7:00 pm. Guests will have access to a cash bar and DJ Huck Finn will be providing the entertainment.
On March 4, beginning at 2:00 pm, the Ori Soltes lecture will be ‘Corita Kent in her Contexts: Art, Craft, Politics and Society’. Both of these events are free with admission to the museum.
‘Someday is Now’ will be showing at the Andy Warhol Museum from January 30 to April 19. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 am.
