Pittsburgh kids offered chance for animal experience

An event series that will bring some four-legged fun to Pittsburgh will be getting started in early February, and it has been planned with pint-sized animal lovers in mind.

The Littlest Animal Friends initiative gives kids and companion animals an opportunity to interact. The activity benefits both kids and creatures, as the youngsters get a chance to develop their understanding and empathy, while the pets receive some social interaction.

The kids that take part will engage in an assortment of animal-themed activities; these will range from reading to art and evening singing. They will also explore the venue’s Humane Education and Engagement Center, and a scavenger hunt will introduce them to some of the rabbits, cats and dogs that stay at the shelter until they can find a forever home. Advance registration is mandatory to participate, and the event will be held once each month.

Animal shelters and other not for profit organizations that help to make up a community's social safety often need to get the word out for events like this. Print shops will be able to help make sure happenings like this can be promoted, and can provide a full line of printing services.

The team at Animal Friends will be offering Pittsburgh kids an opportunity to interact with animals each month, starting this year on January 11th. Each session starts at 11:00am at 562 Camp Horne Road.
