Paper making has a long history that dates back centuries, and the registrants for a Pittsburgh event will learn how they can craft this material on their own.
The Paper Making Class that has been planned by the crew at Contemporary Craft will offer an introduction to this ancient art, and it will be a hands-on activity. Natural materials will be used for the project, and everyone will go home with creations they can show and share.
The group will be working with items such as banana fibers, cotton, and other naturally sourced components, and they will be able to use flowers, leaves, and their own artistic embellishments to make their piece their own. The materials needed will all be supplied, and a variety of crafting techniques will be taught.
The registration fee for the session is $55 each, and a material fee of $10 will be charged as well. Anyone who requires accommodations to make the activity accessible due to a disability is asked to contact 412-261-7003.
Crafting classes provide a fun way to learn new skills. A flyer printing company will have a variety of thrifty ways of promoting these functions to the public.
This introduction to the art of paper making will be held on February 5 starting at 10:00 am. The venue can be found at 5645 Butler Street.
