A special event is in the works for a Pittsburgh venue, and it will give the public a chance to stop by and meet some of its feathered friends in person.
The National Aviary educates the public about birds, their ecology and the threats they face, and it will be hosting its Penguin Palooza celebration for two days in March. Its resident group of African penguins will be the stars of the show, and all ages may participate.
The weekend will see an assortment of special activities, and the birds will welcome visitors at Penguin Point. Visitors can watch a feeding, make a themed craft, and talk to the avian experts who will be on hand. There will be an opportunity to purchase separate tickets for a painting class set to be facilitated by artist Maria DeSimone Presack. The contact person for the activities can be reached at 412-323-7235.
Festivals built around a central theme may be well suited to custom decor prepared by a local poster printing company. There will be many styles to choose from, and these marketing tools may be prepared for single or multiple use.
This opportunity to enjoy learning about penguins and how they live will be on offer over the March 18 and 19 weekend. The National Aviary can be found at 700 Arch Street.
