An event is coming up that will enable friends to celebrate Galentine’s Day together.
Luna Joy Flower Farm is the organizer of the upcoming Galentine Bouquet Party, where women can get together to celebrate the day. They will be able to design a bouquet by choosing their own greenery and flowers, and can enjoy a glass of wine at the same time. Participants will create a centerpiece suitable for use on Valentine’s Day. Admission includes the greenery and flowers, a vase that has been prepared, and a glass of Wooden Door Winery’s wine.
According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, which officially added the word in 2022, “Galentine’s Day” is a combination of “Valentine’s” and “gal,” and was first used in the “Galentine’s Day” episode of the television series “Parks and Recreation.” The episode aired in 2010. The line was spoken by the Leslie Knope character, who said the day was the day when women left their boyfriends and husbands at home and met up with their women friends to relax and enjoy brunch. The word was used several more times during the run of the show.
The Galentine Bouquet Party is set for February 2, from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm, at the Wooden Door Winery in Vandergrift, a short distance from Leechburg. When craft events like this are planned, organizers could use flyer printing to create instruction/suggestion sheets for attendees.
