A milestone event is taking place in West Leechburg, and a party is planned.
The West Leechburg Fireman’s Festival is celebrating the 80th year since its founding in 1944. To mark this milestone, festival organizers are creating activities such as food booths, craft vendors, raffles, and trucks. As a special treat, children will have a chance to ride in a fire truck, as well as enjoying activities just for them.
In addition, a foam party is scheduled to take place at 7.00 pm, where attendees get to dance, play, and party in a wave of sudsy foam. Made by a foam machine, the bubbly substance is not wet or sticky like soap bubbles, but instead is a fluffy foam that is far less messy.
Also on the schedule is a Car Cruise, to which all auto enthusiasts are invited. The entry fee for the contest is $8, and the first 60 people to enter the Cruise will be given a commemorative dash plaque. The winners of the Kids’ Choice and the Chief’s Choice will receive awards.
The Fireman’s Festival is Saturday, July 20, from 2.00 pm until 7.00 pm, at the West Leechburg Fireman’s Rec Hall. The foam party begins at 7.00 pm. When events like this are planned, organizers will often contact a printer, who will use poster printing techniques to create colorful advertisements for the occasion.
