Fantastic family fun fills February

A unique event is planned in Vandergrift, a short distance from Leechburg.

The historic Vandergrift Public Library is the site of The Escape Room, an adventure in which teams race the clock to find a “lost treasure,” escape, and save the library.

The escape requires people to work in teams, which will number from 4 to 6, with all participants 16 or older. Participants will have 60 minutes to escape from the room, using teamwork, logic, and observation to solve puzzles designed to thwart them. When events like this are planned, organizers can use flyer printing to create handouts for players.

The event is being held to raise funds for the Vandergrift Public Library, and pre-registration and payment are required. The $20 payment must be made by credit card only, and refunds will not be given unless the library is forced to close due to COVID, thus also canceling the event.

At this time, mask wearing is optional, and the actors will not be masked. However, they will not be near the players or in physical contact with them. In addition, the area of the library used for the game, as well as items used in play, will be cleaned before and after the game. Event organizers are adhering to current health guidelines, and will make necessary changes as protocols evolve.

The event begins at 7.00 pm, but players are asked to arrive at 6.45 pm. There are two Escape Rooms scheduled, February 11 and February 25.
