The exhibition "Frida Kahlo: An Intimate Portrait" will be showing at The Frick in Pittsburgh beginning this March.
Mexican artist Kahlo lived from 1907 to 1954 and was married to fellow artist Diego Rivera. She is best known for her many self-portraits and nature works. As is not uncommon in art, she became more famous for her work after her death.
The exhibit was designed by Vincente Wolf and Sandrina Rubelli. It will feature 113 photographs from the artist's private photo albums. The photographs are a mix of personal photographs and professional ones.
It is hoped that the photographs will give the public a better idea of who the artist was and what truly mattered to her. It may also give some background as to how she developed her unique style of art.
There is a unique sponsorship opportunity for this show; people can sponsor a specific photograph.
Banner printing services in nearby areas such as Cranberry Township are sometimes asked to help advertise events such as this art exhibition in the local community. Banners can be hung outside an art gallery or museum to help raise interest in current shows.
The Frida Kahlo exhibition will be on display at The Frick Art Museum in Pittsburgh from March 6 to May 30. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13 for seniors, students, and military personnel, while members are admitted for free.
