The inaugural 16066 BBQ Bash will be held next month in Cranberry Township to determine its first-ever rib cook-off champion.
As many as 10 passionate grill masters will vie for the prestigious title and associated prizes, bringing their best flavors and techniques to the competition.
Organizers will provide contestants with aprons, tables and chairs, individualized display Signs, and electrical hook-ups. Each individual or team must provide their own tent, cooking equipment, accessories, sauces and spices to prepare and cook the provided rack of ribs which will be tasted by a team of judges. The top three cooks will receive prizes.
Spectators are invited to bring chairs and blankets to enjoy a full day of picnic-type activities. There will be lawn games and live music. The local library will provide children’s games and crafts as well as a tractor photo booth.
Food will be available for purchase from a number of barbecue-style food trucks. Spectators can also enjoy craft beer and other beverages. Vendors who take part in special events such as this often obtain poster printing services to promote their products.
The first 16066 BBQ Bash will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 on the Armstrong Great Lawn at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, 2525 Rochester Road. The event is free to attend. Registration and further information is available on the township website.
