Sport provides support to Cranberry Township families

Golf and softball tournaments are the August highlights of the Cranberry CUP, a year-round campaign that supports and raises funds for those in need.

CUP stands for Community Uniting People. The program was developed in 2000 as a way to strengthen and provide financial assistance and encouragement to local residents. Since that time, the Cranberry CUP has raised over $2.5 million for area families in need.

Next month, the program's three main charitable events will be held. The annual kick-off party features a Friday night dinner, entertainment and raffle of prize baskets as well as the introduction of this year’s inspirational family.

That same weekend, players will take to the field in the Cranberry CUP Softball Tournament featuring teams in both a neighborhood division and an open division. At the same time, players will be on the local links for the Cranberry CUP golf classic, a four-person scramble event.

All three weekend events raise funds in support of the charity through registrations, raffles, competitions and sponsors. Businesses who sponsor community events such as this, often use Logo Design services to enhance their branding.

The kickoff party for the Cranberry CUP will be held August 1, 2025 from 6 to 10:30 pm at the Highlands Golf Course in Cranberry Township. The associated golf tournament tees off the next morning, August 1, at 10 am, while the softball tournament runs August 2 to 3 at Cranberry Park.
