Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market, an Illinois-based chain looking to make waves inside the Pittsburgh metro area, has announced the opening of a new store in Cranberry Commons, moving into the former H. H. Gregg location. The chain offers delivery in addition to its retail locations.
Fresh Thyme advertises itself as having:
“The spirit of a farmer’s market, the convenience of a neighborhood store, and the nutritious offerings of a natural food marketplace.”
It clearly hopes to tap into contemporary demand for local ingredients and healthy meals. Fresh Thyme stores feature an open design that aims to create a more natural and intuitive feel than the tall shelves of a typical supermarket. For an example of the type of food offered by Fresh Thyme, the nearby Pleasant Hills location is currently advertising avocados, mangoes, grass-fed hamburgers, and fresh fruit pies.
Cranberry residents looking for a taste of what is to come can check out the two Pittsburgh-area locations that opened on June 13, in Pleasant Hills and Collier Township. Those openings featured giveaways, live music, and activities, and the Cranberry debut may involve the same.
As with any grocery store, the use of flyer printing and other Print services-based advertising will be vital to get the word out on weekly deals. The taste test will then determine whether Pittsburgh-area shoppers will spend their ‘thyme’ at the new chain.
