Discount retailer leads revitalization of Cranberry Mall

Aldi, a grocery store chain with discount product lines and a minimalist approach, is coming to Cranberry Township, where it will play a part in the revitalization of the Cranberry Mall.

In line with its cost-conscious image and pragmatic approach, instead of constructing a new building, the grocery chain is renovating the space previously occupied first by Shop ’n Save and then by Kuhn’s Market .

Aldi will kick off Cranberry Mall’s revitalization but it by no means the only big change coming to the township’s retail center. Brian Gumbert of LG Realty, the company that leases and manages the mall, said that OshKosh B’Gosh and Carter’s, two children’s clothing stores, will open on the upper level of the mall by the end of March 2015.

Three other fashion retailers are being pursued by LG Realty, and if the company is successful in signing them, Cranberry Mall will be 100% filled.

With its opening on December 18, Cranberry’s Aldi will be the 44th for Western Pennsylvania. Nationwide, the company has plans for 650 new stores, bringing its total number of stores to almost 2,000 within the next three years.

Grocery stores depend on Print companies to supply their employee handbooks, as well as their Stationery products. Aldi says it new Cranberry store will employ 15 people, and the company is also looking to fill positions in its division warehouses.
