Named ‘Drip, Drizzle, and Splash II’, the event features work on the themes of "new beginnings" and "weather and environment" -- a pair of topics most Pennsylvanians' thoughts turn to come January and February.
There will be a competitive aspect to the event, with Leah Price, the art curator for Pittsburgh's Cabaret Theater, selecting the works and awards for the show. However, the main purpose of the exhibition is to energize and celebrate local art. Attendees young and old may be motivated to stop by local art supply stores or Print shops to start their own creative journey. Admission is free to the public.
The Cranberry Artists Network has a stated purpose of building:
"...a vibrant appreciation for the arts by connecting artists and their skills with the community."
It aims to make art accessible and essential, whether it be traditional modes like painting and sculpture or more modern methods like photography and graphic design. In addition to holding exhibitions, they have sponsored classes on topics such as life drawing and air painting.
The exhibition will take place from tomorrow, March 12, and running up to April 15 at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center, with an official reception taking place on the evening of March 22.
