Cats and pumpkins at Cranberry Township Halloween events

Children in Cranberry Township can dress up and enjoy two Halloween-themed events next month.

The first is a Halloween party for children and young teens where they can wear costumes and put their artistic talents to work on cat-themed craft projects. As event host, the Cranberry Public Library will have members of the Butler County Humane Society on hand along with kittens from the shelter. Pre-registration is recommended, and all ages are welcome to attend.

The following evening, the Cranberry Township Parks and Recreation Department will present the Great Pumpkin Festival. Kids will enjoy snacks, refreshments, and Halloween treats while participating in spooky games, craft making, and choosing their perfect pumpkin.

Although open to all ages, it is geared toward children from one to eight years of age who can dress in costume and take part in an evening of spirited fun. Pre-registration is required and tickets are $12, or $14 for non-residents. Parents or guardians attend for free. Both Halloween parties are the type of event that organizers often promote by using poster printing services from a local Print shop.

The first party is Thursday, October 24 at the Franklin Station meeting room from 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The Great Pumpkin Festival is the following night, Friday, October 25, at 6:00 pm at the Cranberry Municipal Center on Rochester Road. Both events have sensory time prior to the main parties to allow children with special needs, such as those with autism, to participate in a less stimulating and overwhelming environment.
