In early October, locals in Media can help raise awareness and funds for orphans in Liberia and Uganda.
The 5th Orphan Day 5K run or walk is a ‘pull tab’ timed event. Kids can participate in the fun run. Postcard printing is an easy way to get the word out about an event such as this.
After the run, attendees can enjoy coffee from Hot Cup of Compassion, and the organization will also have Bags for sale. Refreshments, crafts, and games will be available too. Prizes will be given to the top finisher in each age group.
Compassion Corps, a charitable organization dedicated to easing suffering and encouraging development in Africa, is hosting the race. During the event, the group will be distributing information about the organization's efforts and its student sponsorship program.
Registration costs $30 for adults, $15 for students, $10 for children, and $75 for a family of four, plus $5 for each additional member. Online registration ends on October 2 at 11:59 pm. Participants are encouraged to raise money for the cause. For every $100 raised, the individual will be given a gift and an entry into the raffle for a tablet device.
The race kicks off on October 3 at 10:00 am. Event day registration begins at 9:00 am. It takes place at Ridley Creek State Park, located on 1023 Sycamore Mills Road at Pavilion #17.Get a Free Quote for Bags
