Sensory-friendly event enthralls children in Chadds Ford

A sensory-friendly event that is geared toward children is coming to Chadds Ford, allowing these youth to experience a holiday staple with their families.

The Sensory-Friendly Evening: Brandywine Railroad, a holiday favorite of local families, is opening its doors to Chadds Ford families with children on the autism spectrum or who live with another disorder related to sensory processing. The event will allow these children and their families access to the Brandywine Museum of Art’s Brandywine Railroad exhibit after hours.

The train’s track covers over 2,000 feet and has over 1,000 pieces, providing an immersive experience for children to attend. The museum will also feature other exhibits that families can check out, including the Home for the Holidays exhibit. This exhibit will showcase a selection of Holiday Cards and dollhouses. Museums and host venues can use brochure printing to provide additional information to attendees at such events, enhancing their visit.

The museum’s first floor will be filled with decorated trees that use natural materials as ornaments. The evening has been curated by occupational therapists with assistance from local families. Other features of the evening include a hands-on crafting experience, reduced crowd noise, and support from kind and skilled volunteers.

The Brandywine Museum of Art in Chadds Ford will host the holiday event on Friday, January 2nd, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Admission is free with online registration.
