Residents of Chadds Ford who want to get their hands dirty will have an opportunity to help with a harvest at a local farm this summer.
The 2nd Annual Garlic Harvesting Shindig is returning to Little Thistle Farms at the end of this month, bringing the community together for a day of pulling and hanging garlic, followed by a post-harvest celebration. Participants will get to lend a hand as they harvest garlic for approximately two hours.
The post-harvest celebration will be held at the farm’s house, with interested individuals welcome to attend just the celebration if they prefer. Little Thistle Farm will be providing some grilled foods, but attendees are asked to bring a snack, side, or potluck dish to share with guests, along with refreshing beverages of their choice. Promoters can use flyer printing to organically spread the word about events like this in the community by placing the Flyers in high-traffic areas.
The farm has stated that the garlic is growing more quickly this season than in the past, so the event has been moved forward, while the original date of July 5 is being used as a backup in the event of inclement weather.
Participants will meet at 1926 Hillendale Road in Chadds Ford, with the harvest set to kick off at 10:00 AM on Sunday, June 28. The celebration will begin at 1:00 PM. Interested parties can RSVP online.
