Brandywine Battlefield Park to welcome historian to speak

An opportunity to indulge in the history of the United States and its founding is coming up this November when a historian will visit the Brandywine Battlefield Park in Chadds Ford.

Historian Don Hagist will be stopping by in Chadds Ford this autumn as part of celebrations surrounding the nation’s 250th anniversary, with the topic of his discussion being that of “Noble Volunteers.” The discussion will take a different view on history, with Hagist providing an in-depth look at the British soldiers who fought in the colonies during the American Revolution.

Hagist will break past the standard view of British soldiers as “Redcoats” and delve into the human side of the men on the other side of the battlefield through their firsthand accounts and military records. Historical discussions and events like this are ideal for the information-packed benefits of brochure printing to provide guests with the best learning aids.

Attendees will learn more about why British soldiers enlisted, who they were, and what happened to them after the Revolution’s end. Hagist is considered the leading scholar of the British Army in the American Revolution, making this a popular opportunity for historians around Chadds Ford.

The discussion will be held at 1491 Baltimore Pike in Chadds Ford, and is scheduled to begin at noon on Saturday, November 14th. Tickets are available online for $20 per attendee.
