Window company to expand to Bristol

Okna Windows will be building a warehouse and manufacturing building in Bristol.

The building will span 111,000 square feet and will be located on Newportville Road near Ford Road at the former Sunbury Farm property. The property covers an area of nine acres. The building will have two large stormwater areas and 13 loading bays.

The company makes various designs of windows and has been in business for almost 30 years. An attorney who works for the company, Ed Murphy, said that with this new building the company plans to grow its number of employees from 230 to 300. It is likely that such employees in more managerial positions will require business card printing services.

Officials from Bristol Township and the company worked together over the past year to enable this building to come to fruition. The plan was approved by the Bristol Township Zoning Hearing Board before it was approved by the Bristol Township Council.

The property at Sunbury Farm is mostly wooded and once included a farmhouse from the 1700s. It was owned by the Taylor family from 1810 until the 1970s, being a fine country home for Anthony Taylor Jr. in 1905. Taylor was the owner of the largest amount of land in Bucks County at the time. The farmhouse was demolished when the township sold the property in 2016 to a developer for $510,00.
