Bristol to celebrate its history with annual event
The 49th annual Historic Bristol Day will be held next month.
Among the events taking place during the day will be a classic car show, vendors and a food court, house tours, tea at the South Lawn, activities for children, and entertainment.
The 14th annual Bristol Day Car Show will take place at Snyder-Girotti Elementary School on Beaver Street. This will feature foreign and American antique cars, classic cars, Firebirds, Camaros, newer Corvettes, Thunderbirds, and Mustangs, among others. Trophies will be awarded for first, second, and third place People’s Choice Awards, Best of Show, pre-1996, and 1996 to present. This will run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a car cruise through Bristol at 3:00 pm.
There will also be a Lincoln Exhibit, which will be an interactive tribute and unique art experience celebrating the historic visit of Abraham Lincoln to Bristol while he was making his way to his 1861 inauguration. There will be a special presentation by Bill Pezza, who will discuss how the exhibit came to life, along with figures from Bristol in 1861 and an authentic flag with 33 stars. There will also be Lincoln Legacy Stop presentations at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm, held at the 300 Block of Pond Street.
Such special events can be promoted throughout a town with poster printing.
