Over $3.8m in funding has been approved by the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County to support municipal services, infrastructure, and local public safety.
A total of 41 grants were awarded, many of them to Bristol Borough and Bristol Township.
Chairman of the Redevelopment Authority, Ralph DiGuiseppe, said this Municipal Grant Program was established in 2008 and is funded by 1% of the gross terminal revenue from a local casino in Bensalem Township. DiGuiseppe said that the Municipal Grant Program provides lasting benefits to the many communities it serves by modernizing infrastructure, enhancing services provided by municipalities, and strengthening public safety.
Bristol Borough and Township received 11 awards, which include:
• $121,301 to the Police Department for a patrol vehicle and in-car and body cameras
• $66,723 for improvements to street lighting on Mill and Radcliffe Streets
• $75,000 for roof renovations to the active adult center
• $39,889 for fire rescue and emergency responder personnel protective equipment
Local Print shops can help spread the word about such funding, the projects being funded, and their benefits for the community with Flyers and other printed materials.
The program was established through legislation introduced and championed by former State Senator Tommy Tomlinson. Over its history of 17 years, the Redevelopment Authority has distributed more than $67m in grants to support a wide range of local projects.
