A formal proclamation has been presented by Mayor Frank Peranteau honoring the enduring role of the post office for helping to connect Americans for close to 250 years, and in serving the community of Bristol. A congressional citation recognizing the historic place in the community and in the country has been presented by United State Representative Brian Fitzpatrick.
The citation and the proclamation have been accepted by Postmaster Ayofemi Grandy on behalf of the Bristol Post Office and its employees. Grandy said:
“The Bristol Post Office has been part of this community since before the founding of the United States, and that is something truly special.”
He expressed his pride in being able to serve their customers every day and being part of a legacy that connects the past, present, and future of Bristol.
