Gelest, Inc. has broken ground on a new facility in Falls Township that will help with the semiconductor manufacturing industry in the United States.
Residents of nearby Bristol looking for employment may be interested in the development of this facility.
The facility will span 50,000 square feet and will be near the company’s existing headquarters on East Steel Road, which currently houses production and research and development. There will be a clean room featuring advanced analytical instruments, covering 3,000 square feet. The facility will be used for the manufacture of chemicals needed for semiconductors.
Senior vice president of operations, Neville Lockwood, said there will be state-of-the-art equipment for the analysis, development, Packaging, and large-scale manufacturing of specialized chemicals. These will support advanced technology markets that meet the rigorous requirements of the customers and markets of today and the future.
The company plans to initially hire 25 people, many of whom are sure to require business card printing services, with more planned as the operation expands. President of Gelest, Jonathan Goff, said that the company will be recruiting from local universities and leveraging the expertise in the local workforce. He added that the company is supporting business in this country to help fortify its supply chain for the materials in demand for advanced manufacturing.
The new building is expected to be completed by September 2024.
