New housing to come to Bristol

Housing options will be coming to the Croydon section of Bristol, as the former school at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church will be torn down and replaced.

Blight remediation funds in the amount of $120,000 has been given to the Redevelopment Authority of Bucks County to demolish the school, which has been closed since 2011. The church and the Redevelopment Authority are working together along with Habitat for Humanity of Bucks County on the project.

Habitat will be building six single-family homes on the site once the building has been torn down. Banner printing is often used at such siters to inform the community of any projects and their benefits for residents.

Executive director of the Redevelopment Authority, Jeff Darwak, expressed his pride in being part of this project. He added that he is looking forward to working with Habitat in completing this project, which will fulfill the dream of home ownership for six families in Bucks County.

State Senator Tommy Tomlinson, who represents Croydon, added that he is also proud to be working with the Redevelopment Authority on this project. He said that the Croydon section of Bristol is in need of revitalization and that this project, which is being carried out with the help of Habitat for Humanity, will have a positive effect on the community.
