A donation of $9,000 has been given to Operation Fuel, adding to the $5,000 it received last winter from the Connecticut Energy Marketers Association (CEMA) and GoodWorks Insurance. This money will be used to help families in lower socioeconomic groups keep warm during the winter months.
Senior vice president of GoodWorks Insurance, Ed Ryan, said Operation Fuel has saved the lives of many in the state as about 20% of families have difficulty paying for their energy needs. Ryan announced that GoodWorks will match up to $5,000 from members of CEMA by next September and make an additional donation of $5,000 in the first quarter of 2019.
Flyer printing can be used by such companies to make those in the community aware of such charitable efforts and partnerships with nonprofit organizations in the local area.
Chair of CEMA, Peter Russell, added that dealers of home heating oil in Connecticut want to be a part of the mission of Operation Fuel to help those who need assistance with their heating bills. This is the mission of CEMA as well.
An independent insurance agency, GoodWorks has its headquarters in Glastonbury with branch offices in Columbia, Avon, and New Milford, so that residents of nearby Bristol can take advantage of its offerings of business and home auto insurance, group health insurance, and surety bonds.
