History and golf to come to Bristol

Bristol will be the location for two special events this month and next.

Poster printing is often used to promote such events throughout a town and surrounding communities.

The first is the 200th anniversary of Lafayette’s Fairwell Tour. The community will participate in a grand procession from the Adams Hollow Bride, down Radcliffe Street (which will be lined with Banners), and ending at Mill Street. Ben Goldman, a Lafayette re-enactor, will be in a horse-drawn carriage and be the lead for the procession. There will be speeches and festivities at the corner of Mill and Radcliffe Streets. The Lafayette mural, which was created by Jared Bader and gifted by BMP Development Co., will be formally dedicated.

Featured at the festivities will be the Freemasons of Bristol, the Pennsbury Marching Band, the Bristol Borough Fire Associations, the Snyder-Girotti Elementary Band, and the Bristol Cultural and Historical Foundation Band. This event will be on Sunday, September 29 beginning at 2:00 pm.

Also, the Golf Classic put together by the Rotary Club of Bristol will be held next month. This will be at the Yardley Country Club on Reading Avenue in Yardley. Registration for the Golf Classic includes use of the driving range, a closed course, prizes and a raffle, and contests on the course. Begley, Carlin and Mandio, L.L.P will be sponsoring lunch, and The Grundy Foundation will sponsor a beverage cart. This event will be on Monday, October 7, starting at noon.
