A new supervisor for elementary curriculum has been appointed in the Bristol Township School District. The new supervisor is Amy Coleman who is filling the role that the former supervisor, Karen Snedecker, left vacant when she retired in April.
A community is often informed of such appointments from mailers created by local Print shops.
Coleman said she is looking forward to working with families, students, teachers, and administrators to have a positive effect on student learning. Coleman added that she is looking forward to working with the community to ensure that learning is engaging and fun while also enabling students to achieve their potential.
Coleman is planning to align the curriculum for students in grades kindergarten through 12. She said that this will provide for more cohesive learning and a blueprint for both teachers and students. Coleman said she will be looking to input from others and is looking forward to collaborating with those relevant to the process in her new position.
Dr. Melanie Gehrens, superintendent of the school district, welcomed Coleman to the district. Gehrens added that Coleman brings a new perspective to the district and she is looking forward to working with Coleman.
Since 2019, Coleman has been the director of curriculum and special programs at the Union City Area School District. She has also been a teacher in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
