An amount of $1.7 million will be awarded to Bristol for sound barriers to reduce the noise coming from the Amtrak corridor. The funding is from the Community Project Funding program that is designed to enhance infrastructure projects that improve the quality of life for residents.
The sound barriers will run from Green Line to Garfield Street and be state-of-the-art transparent sound barriers. The goal is that these will alleviate disturbances from noise and improve daily living for residents of Bristol.
The funding will also be used for needed upgrades to the trail along Trenton Avenue that will enable compliance with the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act and improve accessibility for all members of the community.
Flyer printing can be used to inform residents of such funding and projects and their benefits for residents of a town.
Ralph DiGuiseppe III, mayor of Bristol, said that he, the Bristol Borough Council, and the residents are very appreciative and grateful of the efforts and generosity of United States Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick who has been a champion of directing federal resources to important programs and projects that directly benefit the 1st Congressional District of Pennsylvania.
The mayor added that Fitzpatrick recognized this has been an important issue for residents over the past few years and Fitzpatrick has stepped up to resolve the issue as his best interests are always with the borough.
