A redevelopment project will be taking place in Bristol on Chestnut and Elm Streets.
A partnership between the Redevelopment Authority (RDA) of Bucks County and the borough will create over 50 homes on the two streets, with views of the Grundy Clock Tower and behind the former Mill Run mid-rise. This project will require the demolition of a row of homes, which have been boarded up on Elm Street. A grant for $50,000 has been accepted by the borough from the Municipal Grant Program, which the RDA will use for the demolition. Banner printing is often used at such sites to inform the community of any projects to be undertaken.
Ralph DiGuiseppe, President of the Bristol Borough Council, said bid documents have been prepared for this work and the bids have been submitted. He expects the RDA will approve one of the bids at its next meeting.
There are additional boarded-up homes on Chestnut Street, which are next on the schedule to be demolished, and five occupied properties for which the RDA is reaching out to the owners to see if they want to sell their homes.
The 10 houses on Elm Street are to be demolished either later this month or next month. Once the houses are demolished, the land will be graded and seeded with an open area for use by those in the neighborhood.
